The Next Big ALM Wave – CLM

A “Wave” – a disturbance that travels through space and time, usually accompanied by the transfer of energy. Let’s take a simple example of three surfboarders on a beach. Catching the wave is the most essential step in the surfing process.

Surfboarder A goes in too early – the wave overtakes him and he is left behind.
Surfboarder B waits for too long for the wave to form – the wave engulfs him in its fury.
Surfboarder C catches the wave at the right time and the wave takes him safely ashore.

What significance does a wave have to our businesses? Wave travels and transfers energy from one point to another – waves cause disruptions. Technology is the strategic differentiator and technology waves can significantly change our business models – they will cause disruptions, but more importantly create huge business opportunities for our organizations if we can catch the wave.

Lessons for our business

  1. Pick the Right Wave – make sure its not a broken one
  2. Feel the Wave coming
  3. Prepare yourself to ride the wave

The Universe is made up of waves – it’s for us to tune in to the right frequency. And for people like us who depend on Technology to drive our businesses – collaboration is the key – collaboration amongst the business leaders, architects, project managers, developers, system integrators and testers.

Aptly named “Jazz” the collaborative open platform from Rational is the creating the Next Big Wave in ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) – CLM (Collaborative Lifecycle Management).

Ride the CLM Wave and see your business race to the shore at Software Universe 2011. Be there October 20th at the Renaissance Hotel Mumbai and catch the next big wave in ALM.

Happy Surfing!

We have been partners with IBM for 12 years now and have been winning the ‘Best Partner’ award for 9 consecutive years.

We are largely into Defence, with our establishments in Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Today our client heads are here to attend the technical sessions and I am here to greet them personally.

Since most of our business (70%) comes from Defence, we are here to know how IBM’s technologies and smarter solutions can help us. We have already worked with IBM on a project for the Kerala government. We are also planning to do projects with the Gujarat and Rajasthan governments.

The IBM and Microgenisis relations and the way our business is growing shows in the awards and appreciation we receive.

Application Lifecycle Management Track by Fariz Saracevic

The first in the set of track sessions at Innovate 2011 kick started with “Value of IBM Rational Collaboration lifecycle management solution”.

The track sessioned by Fariz gave an overview of Application Lifecycle Management and Rational Collaboration Lifecycle Management.  Fariz emphasized that Software today drives innovation for a smarter planet and exists everywhere.

The defining challenge though is managing “Systems of Systems”, over the period of time the complexity of Software has increased.  Which can be simplified by defining a well etched development lifecycle.

The first step in the process is to Decide, then Develop and then finally deploy.

Collaboration Lifecycle Management- Improve productivity with an integrated ALM solution.

It optimizes your team through support of 5 ALM imperatives

Imperative 1: Real Time planning

Imperative 2: Lifecycle Traceability

Imperative 3: In-context collaboration

Imperative 4: Development intelligence

Imperative 5: Continuous Improvement

Innovate India Unveils with a Bang

After all, techies are  no less than a Rock Star

The unveiling ceremony of Innovate 2o11, caught my surprise as it just happened in a different way, a big way. They say people in the IT industry feel a little lazy during morning hours, and for sure a speech would further motivate them to carry laze rhythm through out.

An event like Innovate is about energizing and to pump in that energy shot in the vain, who else can be better than Radio One RJ Prithvi. The vibrant introduction by Prithvi, was more than cheer the audience up, however to get them on the floor Innovate’s first performance had to be  a Rock Show with the rock band Thermal and a Quarter at their rocking best… New for an IT conference, but desperately needed. After all, techies are  no less than a Rock Star

A Flashmob with Thermal and a Quarter kickstarting the IT conference, was the whisper inside and then the volume pumped up. Taking people off their seats, the vocals compelled people to flock near the stage and do the morning “head bang”. Now that’s the way to Kick start the 7th edition of  Rational conference.
